Collections first took shape with historic photographs, artifacts and local collections dating back to the pioneer era. The museum is home to an original Jacob William Benson painting. Benson traveled the area painting for money, a vagabond western artist of the 1950s. Dale Wright, pilot and World War II history enthusiast, shared his collections of airplane paintings and memorabilia for exhibit in the museum resulting in a unique and colorful collection.

An expansion to the museum is home to sheepwagons, historic tools, the history of Miller’s 101 Ranch and cowboy trappings. Museum officials have paid careful attention to opportunities to gather local history. When an area newspaper wrote articles telling the stories of area ranches, the museum collected and displayed the writings. The museum also houses a map of Centennial Ranches, those who’ve celebrated 100 years in the same family, in the area.

Committed to expanding and improving, the museum is currently working on a library. The facility will house historically significant books and serve as a place of research for area historians.
